“For more than 10 years, the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research GmbH - UFZ has been using the load balancer software BalanceNG to secure IT services. The configuration consists of two Dual node clusters. Each cluster consists of a Dual node HA setup with bngsync session table synchronisation. The network connection is designed once with 10Gbs and 25Gbs. Different services are secured e.g. http (websites, Nextcloud), dns, smtp, imap, ldap, radius. The targets are all configured for DSR mode. The use of the BalanceNG software offers us a good protection of system-critical services, enables flexibility during maintenance work and requires very little administrative effort.”
